There are three types of fire extinguishers designed for different types of fires.
Class “A” - Combustibles (paper, wood, cloth, etc.) require water for cooling.
Class “B” - Flammable liquids (gasoline, oil, paint, etc.) requires smothering dry chemical.
Class “C” - Electrical (electrical equipment wire, etc.) fires require chemical, CO2 or dry chemical.
Never use a water extinguisher on liquids; it may spread the fire. Never use a water extinguisher on electrical fires; it may cause electric shock.
Please familiarize yourself with pull stations, fire extinguisher and fire exits located throughout your building.
