Security

General Office Security

Your security is a primary concern at Swedesford Park and is under the supervision of our property management office. For all concerns and questions, contact the management office at 302-650-3741. Please refer to our Emergency Action Plan (opens in a new window) and also see the Building Security section of this handbook for a complete outline of the security procedures.

Minor security matters such as solicitors, suspicious, or intoxicated persons should be reported to the management office at 302-650-3741.

Serious offenses or emergencies of any kind should be reported first to the Police Department at 911 and then immediately to the management office at 302-650-3741.

Security suggestions:

  • Try to memorize a physical description of the suspicious person(s).
  • Do not attempt to apprehend or detain the suspicious person(s).
  • Keep your doors locked after regular hours or if you are alone.
  • Keep purses and valuables out of sight.
  • Transfer valuables to pants or skirt pocket when you remove your suit coat.

Theft occasionally can be a problem in office buildings. Offices are normally unlocked during normal business hours and numerous delivery people and visitors are in the building throughout the day.  Outlined below are several measures you can take to prevent thefts in your office:

  • Keep all entrance doors locked after you leave the office.
  • Instruct employees to keep valuables, including purses, in their desks when unattended.
  • Articles of value, including handbags and coats should not be left in unguarded reception areas or desks, even for a few minutes.
  • Thoroughly mix the combination when closing a vault or safe.
  • Do not leave the vault or safe combination on or in a desk.
  • Notify Property Management when loiterers are observed in corridors or washrooms. 
  • Serial numbers should be recorded to aid police in recovering property in the event of loss or theft.
  • Do not leave articles of value in automobiles.
  • Lock suite entry door when entry area is unattended.

If something is discovered missing from your office, please contact the management office at 302-650-3741 stating the details so we have a record in our files. It is up to the tenant’s discretion as to whether the tenant desires to report the event to the police.

Solicitors

Soliciting is not permitted. If someone is soliciting in your suite, please notify the management office at 302-650-3741. We will send the appropriate personnel to have them escorted off the premises.

Tenant Security Services

Tenants may require security services in addition to those typically provided on a day-to-day basis.  If extra security measures are required, the tenant should call the management office at 302-650-3741 to discuss these needs and the best way to fulfill them.
